Unit Plan for Romeo & Juliet - This is a ten-session unit on Romeo & Juliet created as part of Georgia's KidFirst program. The unit makes use of several different film versions of the play, including West Side Story. The unit includes lesson structures and handouts. Besides enacting and discussing scenes, students will also rewrite a scene in modern English to prove an understanding of the language. They must also keep a journal during the unit. This lesson plan meets Georgias Quality Core Curriculum standards.
Romeo & Juliet - Time Stands Still - Here's another unit built around Romeo & Juliet, this one from the Yale New Haven Teachers Institute. The eight-week unit is designed specifically for low-ability learners, though it can be adapted for other ability levels.
Here's Much to do... - A lesson from the Folger Library collection.
| Perfect Mate - A Romeo & Juliet Student/Parent Survey - This lesson lets students and their parents compare "the ideal mate." It's a proven exercise to introduce students to the themes in Shakespeare's play. A TeachersFirst exclusive. |
