Chapter Sixteen - Reading Response Activity

The Minister of Magic, Srimgeour, and Percy Weasley visit the Weasley house on Christmas morning to speak with Harry. In that conversation, Scrimgeour asks if Harry would please consider showing the Wizarding community that he supports the Ministry’s efforts in the ongoing battle against He-who-must-not-be-named. Harry firmly refuses this request. Put yourself in Harry’s shoes for a moment. Write a reading response discussing how you would respond to Scrimgeour. Would you agree with the need to stand by the Ministry? Would you, like Harry, declare your loyalties to Dumbledore? Would you criticize the ministry?
