The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Non-violent Social Change - This site is one of two official Martin Luther King sites. It contains full details of this year's Martin Luther King, Jr. day observances, as well as extensive links to other King resources.
Martin Luther King, Jr. Papers - Stanford University has developed an extensive official collection of Dr. King's writings, sermon, letters, and other documents. They are presented here in a format designed for scholars as well as everyday web surfers. This is an exccellent resource for primary source material on King's life.
Martin Luther King, Jr. and Black History - A Detailed Resource - Grades 6-12 from LSU Libraries, Baton Rouge, LA. As good as any book --this site includes a lot of text. Within the text is a large number of links to other useful sites. The beginning is dedicated to Martin Luther King, Jr. then the rest is about Black History Month. Great for research papers and choosing topics related to Black History .

A straight forward resource for Martin Luther King, Jr. It starts with an overview of his life including a few links within the text. The best part about this site is that it lists a number of books about Martin Luther King, Jr. that you can purchase directly from the site. Great for increasing a classroom library and student resources.
Martin Luther King, Jr. - - "I Have a Dream" speech, - Grades 4-12, from the Douglass Project, sponsor/source is the National Public Telecomputing Network. This rendition of King's famous speech is easy to read and breaks the speech down into sections. This makes it user friendly for classroom discussions. This is also a good site for other American History topics.
Martin Luther King, Jr. - Nobel Lecture - Grades 9-12 - Dr. King's lecture on the occasion of his award of the Nobel Peace prize in 1964 has elements that still resonate in the political structure of today's world. Try this resource as part of a study on non-violence, civil rights, or government. The document is longer than some students might like, but it is not difficult reading. From the Nobel web site.

You can look at the first page and know if you need to go further. Information on Martin Luther King,Jr. Rosa Parks, the history of the Holiday, and some interactive options and links.

Martin Luther King - Leaders & Revolutionaries - Grades 6-12 - The Time 100 site, created for the year 2000 celebrations, offers a nice King bio, along with links to related materials and other leading figures of the 20th century. This one could be a nice starting point for school reports.

This site's Electronic Classroom has a very useful study guide for teachers and students, interactive quiz, comments from other students around the country and links. Other parts of the site details city streets named in his honor, the Sonics and their audio comments about Martin Luther King, Jr.
Sound Bits from Dr. King - Grades 4-12 - This site offers several short sound clips from Dr. King's speeches. They are long enough to capture the intensity of his delivery and style, but the excerpts lose much of the content of these important speeches.
