Explore Shamrock Lane! This is the best of the bunch - hands down. Created as part of a collaborative project with Philadelphia's Franklin Institute, this site combines an Irish theme with travel information, math problems, games, and several entertaining little Java applets. Designed by a team of teachers, this is a site that stays on-theme while teaching a number of different lessons. HOWEVER, some of the materials seem to have been removed over the past years. The remaining pieces perform as advertised.

Activity Ideas for St. Patrick's Day - Lots of simple primary level activities, most of which require only commonly available supplies.

If that's not enough, try this more extensive Armchair Irish Tour, which includes enough additional information that students could find it useful for report research.

Green Food - Here's an ERIC lesson plan in which students make a snack using green food from each food group.

The Legacy of Ireland - An overview of Irish myths and legends from Ireland Now.

Lucy the Leprechaun is a children's story about a little girl leprechaun and her encounter with a dragon.

Mary McLean and the St. Patrick's Day Parade - Here's an entire series of lessons for 4th and 5th graders based on this book with Irish themes. From a Maryland school district.

Wearin O' The Green  offers a comprehensive listing of Irish information for both adults and children. Teachers should be able to find lots of ideas and facts here.

St. Patrick's Day Printables - Here's a British source offering printable color and cut items for St. Patrick's Day.

St. Patrick's Day at TeachersAndFamilies - Lots of printables and activities for the Kindergarten and preschool set.
