This simulation lets participants become project managers of a complex project such as a new construction, hardware, or software project. Along the way, they learn how to manage budgets, schedules, and staff and time management skills while receiving detailed feedback on the project's progress. Begin your project by selecting the "play simulation" link in the box near the bottom of the page; then, students select to play as an individual or class. Choose the educator link to verify that you are an educator and receive a code to set up your class.

Use this simulation as a project-based learning activity to teach students about management careers, software development, and similar careers. Have students create individual projects or groups to work on a single project. Extend learning by asking students to generate progress reports throughout the process, including screenshots of their progress, reflections upon choices made, and possible changes to make within projects to increase success. Have students use Google Sites, reviewed here or another free website creation tool to share their journey throughout the project, which includes a final review document.

This open-source tool provides strategies and insights for considering ways to structure school schedules to fit values and resources. Begin by looking at recent surveys that share information from almost 4,000 school leaders. The survey looks at schedules, length of class periods, and collaboration time provided to educators. Next, visit the Schedule Library to find several examples of traditional, block, and flexible schedule options. Each sample includes a description and a look at the pros and cons of the model. In addition, these examples provide support materials to dig deeper into each concept. Next, try the free Schedule Builder to experiment and explore options that fit your school's needs. Then, visit the Time Strategies tab to learn how schools use innovative methods to make the most of their school day. Organize your brain and your life with Workflowy. This tool allows you to take notes, make lists and outlines, and use hashtags to create groups of items. Import lists from other documents directly into Workflowy. Share lists with others using the share button, use options to allow them to edit if desired. Quickly create an account using email and a password to begin. Once you create an account, be sure to take advantage of the many tutorial videos demonstrating Workflowy's features. If your district blocks YouTube, the videos may not be viewable; be sure to look at alternatives for sharing the videos on classroom computers.

Display the infographic on an interactive whiteboard as a springboard for discussion about time management, creativity, study (or work) habits, perseverance, or multi-tasking. Surprise! Mozart spent 0 hours checking his Facebook account! The site might also be instructive in a discussion about what habits contribute to creativity or as information about the lives of famous people. Using these 16 24-hour clocks as exemplars, students can make their own "creative routines" clocks for comparison. Trello organizes your projects into boards. It tells you what's being worked on, who's working on what, and where something is in a process. Updates are shown in real time, so refreshing the site isn't necessary. The two main items used on boards are cards and lists. Cards are tasks; create a card for each task and drag it to the list. Attachments such as videos, due dates, user notes, and more can be attached to cards. Then pull each card into a list and place in any order necessary to complete the tasks. You can be identified with an @symbol and receive instant notifications.

Use this site in the classroom for organizing any long term project such as a research report or collaborative projects.
