Chaper Two- Math Activity

Elementary Math- A swarm of owls visits number 4 Privet Drive in this chapter. Imagine that the each of the five owls travels round trip from its starting point to Harry's to deliver its letters in this chapter. If the ministry of magic is 20 miles away, Arthur Weasley is 15 miles away, Sirius Black is 25 miles away, and the person who sent the Howler is 45 miles away, how many total miles did the five owls have to fly to deliver the letters? Make certain you account for all five letters.

Middle School Math- A swarm of owls visits number 4 Privet Drive in this chapter. Imagine that the same owl delivers all five letters. The Owl starts at the ministry of magic, then flies to Harry's, then to the Weasley's, then back to Harry's, then to the ministry of Magic, etc, and back and forth from Harry's to the location where the letters are coming from. If the ministry of magic is 20 miles away, Arthur Weasley is 15 miles away, Sirius Black is 25 miles away, and the person who sent the Howler is 45 miles away, how many total miles does the owl fly? If he completes the whole trip in 2 hours, what is his average speed for the trip?
