Need a way to bring the Industrial Revolution to life? This site created by Carol Hurst, offers lesson plans for Katherine Paterson's historical novel about a young woman caught in a factory job during the Industrial Revolution. Students are asked to discussion thought provoking questions, explore activities that analyze the main character's personal growth, and research different aspects of the era of Industrial Revolution. There are links Teachers and students will find the links useful to learn more about the 1860's and the Industrial Revolution.
