Watergate - The Washington Post offers a 25-year retrospective from the newspaper that broke the story. The site includes archival materials, interviews with the principals, and links to other official and unofficial resources. No discussion of Watergate should omit the Post's involvement and perspective.
Watergate and the Constitution - The National Archives offers this presentation of key documents dealing with the impeachment of Richard Nixon, along with other background information.
CNN Revisits Watergate - This CNN special site was also created as a 25th anniversary review. Similar in approach to the Post, but with some different content and resources.
The National On Watergate - Here's a retrospective on Nixon's downfall, created by the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation. Interesting for its north-of-the-border perspective.
Malcolm Farnsworth's Watergate Site - Mr. Farnsworth is an Australian cyber-writer who has built a fairly complete collection of Watergate links and information. This site is particularly useful for its detailed chronology of events related to the Watergate scandal.
The Pentagon Papers Case - Remembered today primarily for its First Amendment implications, the Pentagon Papers case helped alter the relationship between America's press and president. Much of this extensive collection at George Washington University is beyond the scope of high school curriculum, but the contents provide ample material for a term paper or a lesson on the political events of the 60s and 70s.
The End of the Cold War - This collection from the CIA lists declassified documents from the period 1989-1991 regarding the breakup of the Soviet Union. The collection includes assessments of the political and military consequences of the turmoil that swept Russia during this period. Great resource for using primary sources to explain world events.
