Question of the Week Archives

Question:

Mothers Day is approaching. If you had unlimited funds and/or a magic wand, what would you like to give to the mothers of your students this Mothers Day? What do you wish your students would give to their moms?

Replies:

All Mothers would be given financial stability, Godly wisdom, unconditional love, patience and dedication to the physical and educational growth of their children. Moms would want to develope the 'whole child' and not soley focus on one area of thier child's life. Students would give their mothers unconditional love, respect, apperciation, trust, and confidence in knowing that their mom protect and love them no matter what.

If I had unlimited funds or a magic wand, I would give my mon's enough food to feed their children everyday, transportation to get moms to come to school to see what was going on, and parenting classes. What I would like my students to give their mothers is RESPECT.

I'd like to give all moms a "flood" of books that magically were "just right" for their child. The books would automatically adjust based on what the child needed at the time that the mom picked up the book, so she could say, "Here, try this. I think you might like it, and presto, it would be the PERFECT fit for that moment.

I wish students would give their moms a tape recording of themselves reading because that lovely childhood voice, even with the occasional stutter or mess up, is so lovely, and once the child has grown, it's hard to remember how incredible their voice sounded as it was just beginning the journey of learning to read. A photo would be nice too, because they grown up so darn fast!

I would give oms the ability to listen and interact with their children. Turn off or ignore the cell phone and give their children undivided attention to hear, appreciate and enjoy their children and then to be interested and interact with them.

a best present would be a bag, box or something like that with a simple sample of a "thank you" message enclosed!

There are always lots of choices to make in life. They are a mixture of saying proverbs, and "Tales with a message." Mothers is more valuable than jewels, fine gold, or pure silver. knowing that my mom is well and safe through life.

it deals with love, friendship intended to guide me in my everyday behavior, such as making decisions, and living in a fair and just way. A happy life must begin with love for my mon as well as God.

I would give the mothers of my students English language fluency in Speaking, Reading and Writing as well as the confidence to use it.

I would like my students to give their parents respect and not be embarrassed by their parents lack of English.
