Thinking Teachers Teaching Thinkers®

As we enter the Gift Giving Season of the year, be sure to thank your parent volunteers, school custodians, secretaries, paraprofessionals, and all others that make your job better and easier! We at TeachersFirst thank you for allowing us to give you the gift of FREE resources all year long! We are the gift that keeps on giving!

Shopping Amazon?
Please consider “giving back” to TeachersFirst. This takes NO TIME or MONEY. Your online shopping can make an automatic donation to TeachersFirst—at no cost to you! “Shop” a donation by doing your holiday shopping at Amazon. Just be sure to enter the Amazon site via the link at the bottom of our How TeachersFirst Stays Free page, and complete your purchase during that visit. TeachersFirst earns a percentage of the profits from the purchases completed via this entry point. Help us maintain our free, ad-free service to teachers. Our non-profit parent company, The Source for Learning, appreciates your help.

Globetracker is Cruising Along
If you haven’t joined our geography mission for 2015-2016, it isn’t too late to jump on the boat! This week Geo and Meri are ending their Mississippi River cruise. Where do they end up? Read the blog to find out more. Globetracker is designed for grades 2-6 to learn map skills, landforms, landmarks, geography, and much more through the teen’s blogging adventure. Check out complete teacher information, standards, and lesson ideas for using the mission. There are even Google Earth files for you to “watch” the Mission unfold. For extra fun, set your class Twitter account to follow the teens Twitter account, @geoandmeri.

OK2Ask – Winter Registration is OPEN
Registration is now OPEN for all winter sessions. Read our FAQ for general information about certificates, etc. Please be sure to read the detailed descriptions and suggested technology comfort levels BEFORE you register for the best match for your learning needs.

Calendar Happenings
The TeachersFirst Classroom Planning Calendar offers resources related to events and observations on the calendar all throughout the year. Take a look at these resources:

Christmas—Wrapped up in Some Literature and History
If you study the Victorian Era or Charles Dickens, you’ll love our collection of Victorian Christmas Resources to make history come to life! Plan a truly Victorian experience with ideas from these resources.

Gift for YOU!
As we mature, the gifts we desire change. What would mean the most to you? Maybe you would like to see an increased budget at school, or more respect from the administration, or for your students to be more motivated? This week’s Teacher Poll asks: What gift do you most desire this holiday season? Place your vote on the teacher poll on the TeachersFirst home page.
