Excite your students with the Jams! Share the Jam videos on your interactive whiteboard or projector. Have students sing along and learn more about science and math. Especially younger students will enjoy this feature. Create a link to the site on your classroom website or blog for students to use for review and practice at home. Use the many topics available to differentiate for all students in your classroom. Create learning centers using this site or use it in on individual laptops. Print out the quizzes for students to take as an assessment.

Although there is relatively heavy advertising on this site, the many resources make it worth a look. Take advantage of the free worksheets on Math Salamander for use with students needing additional practice, to send home when parents request additional work, or to keep in your substitute folder for quick practice activities. Be sure to share a link on your class page for parents to access at home. Create a link to online interactives on your classroom computers for use as a math center.

Post a link on your class website for use at home. Share information on the site with parents to assist them in helping their child with math and reading skills. Be sure to share the PBS Parents Play & Learn app that provides over a dozen learning games for parents to play with their kids, best of all, it is available in English and Spanish!

Zearn Math is a complete math program that provides Common Core aligned math lessons, personalized to individual learners, and based on Eureka Math / Engage New York. Lessons focus on three critical components: deep understanding, fluency, and problem-solving. Self-paced lessons allow for mastery of concepts before unlocking lessons providing the next level. Math Chat lessons provide video instruction similar to a small group lesson. Lesson Labs include drag and drop activities followed by quiz questions. Zearn currently offers K-5 lessons. Test the student lessons and teacher resources for a whole module with NO sign up required. Create a class account and add students using an Excel sheet or manually input student names to receive custom reports on student progress.

Use Zearn on a projector or an interactive whiteboard to demonstrate specific concepts or use as weekly math centers for student practice. Zearn provides data to target instruction to specific students or concepts needing additional reinforcement. Since Zearn is a complete math program, with individualized lessons for students to work on, teachers can conduct small group instruction while others work independently. Zearn is perfect to use for gifted or advanced students, allowing them to work at their own pace. Be sure to put a link to Zearn on your class web page for students to use at home. Zearn does not support Android devices but will work on all other devices with a browser and Internet access.

Although created for English Language Learners, take advantage of these geometric tasks for use with all students. Use the Sentence Starters and Story Frames as models for incorporating writing into any math lesson. If you are beginning the process of integrating technology, replace paper and pen by having students create blogs sharing their mathematical thinking and understanding using Pen.io, reviewed here. This blog creator requires no registration. If you are teaching younger students and looking for an easy way to integrate technology and check for understanding, challenge your students to create a blog using Edublog, reviewed here.

TrianCal is an online triangle calculator created for Chrome browsers. Although it works in other browsers, the experience will be enhanced using Chrome. Input information into the calculator using measurements for height, length, degrees, or different combinations of each. Draw your triangle, view information in English or Spanish, and change the number of decimals used by using the links on the top right corner of the page. For full information on using the calculator and all of the features, click on the question mark icon located under the drawing of the triangle.

#### In the Classroom

Create a link to TrianCal on your class web page or blog for students to use at home when working with triangles. The calculator is perfect for use on your interactive whiteboard to show representations of different triangles and the effect of changing inputs. Have students create an annotated image of different triangles including text boxes and related links using a tool such as Thinglink, reviewed here.

Enter any URL or text to begin a word cloud, and then start playing with the different options. In addition to changing the font, take the time to play with the angle parameters. Move the arrowheads and rotate to view different orientations of the same text. Other options limit the number of words, the amount of words per line, or spiral and scale of the image. When finished, download and save the image as a PNG or SVG file. Jason Davies' Word Cloud Generator works on any device with a modern browser and Internet access.

This site is perfect for use on an interactive whiteboard or projector to combine language and math lessons. Allow students to play with the options for angles to view changes made to word clouds. #### In the Classroom

Although there are only a few activities, this site provides an interesting starting point for creating inquiry-based lessons. Use ideas from this site as examples and have students make their own Agree or Disagree activities. Challenge small groups of students to find (and cite correctly) videos they could use for an activity like the ones presented here. Use a tool like Shotclip, reviewed here, to upload images, video, audio, add effects, and edit the chosen video as desired, if necessary. Once students have finished this project, have students post their videos on TeacherTube, reviewed here, and present them to the class.

Although very simple, this hands-on activity provides excellent practice with measurement, specifically using centimeters. Introduce this site on your interactive whiteboard or projector. Then have students explore this site independently or in small groups to measure and compare results. Have students create online posters individually or together as a class using a tool such as Web Poster Wizard, reviewed here, or PicLits, reviewed here, showing comparisons of students to various animal parts.

The Radix Endeavor is a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) for STEM learning in middle and high school. Players interact within the designed environment in which activities take place correlated to biology and mathematics topics. There are options to create an account using email as a private participant or under a teacher account. There is a thorough FAQ section and video tutorials. The tutorials are hosted on YouTube. If your district blocks YouTube, the videos may not be viewable. You could always view the videos at home and bring them to class "on a stick" to share. Use a tool such as ClipGrab, reviewed here, to download the videos from YouTube.

Teaching resources include: angle measurer, grids for measuring areas of virtual shapes, coordinate practice, isometric grid for 3D shapes, perimeter practice, rotation, symmetry creator, rotational symmetry of shapes, translations, and a virtual mirror. #### In the Classroom

Motivate your students by bringing technology into geometry. Introduce the concepts of angle measurement, area, perimeter, 3D shapes, rotation, translation, and symmetry as a whole group on your interactive whiteboard. Have students practice at centers during your unit. While preparing for summative assessments, assign for homework to practice. Have students develop a multimedia presentation using angles or symmetry. Highlight definitions, examples, non examples, and where this is found in the real world. Post on your class website or blog for students to review and critique for further practice.

This online tool allows you to customize a design for your classroom layout using your dimensions and objects you want to include. Follow the directions to select your basic dimensions and drag and drop items in place. Free-draw items not among the ready-made objects. When finished, print your design. There is a save option in Classroom Architect; however, it only saves to the computer where you create the design. The site suggests taking a screen shot to paste into a document as the best option for saving.

Play around with different options and set up your room as you like. Save a copy for use when desks have been moved during parties, plays, cleaning, and other events. #### In the Classroom

Introduce this site (and video clip) on your interactive whiteboard or projector during units on measurement, volume, and perimeter. Then have students explore this site independently or in small groups. Use this site as the starting point for individual or group projects. Have students make concrete representations of candy and packaging to demonstrate responses. Before solving this activity, create a quick poll using Survey Anyplace, reviewed here, to see how much students know. Extend the challenge by having students write packaging/measurement challenges for their classmates to solve, perhaps for a product they especially like!
