Combine math and art with this excellent Pi Day (or anytime) activity! Follow the easy instructions to draw, cut, and graph your way to represent the digits of pi. Visual learners will enjoy the video demonstrating different ways to create the skyline. If your district blocks YouTube, then the video may not be viewable. You could always view it at home and bring it to class "on a stick" to share. Use a tool such as Freemake Video Converter, reviewed here, to download the video from YouTube.

In the Classroom

Create a classroom display with all of your students' Pi Day Skylines. Take this idea and apply it to other number series. Have students take pictures of their creations and use Ourboox, reviewed here. Ourboox creates beautiful page-flipping digital books in minutes, and you can embed video, music, animation, games, maps and more.
