This searchable electronic encyclopedia provides a comprehensive chronicle of Chicago's colorful and complex history. It's a fascinating research tool for understanding the evolution of an American city and the people and events that helped shape American society. In the Classroom
Use the images on this site to create a visual discovery activity in your classroom. The images span the decades, and can be easily searched to find one that matches a particular unit in your classroom. Open the image on the interactive whiteboard or projector. Have students discuss or write what they observe, infer and predict happening in the photograph.
