Poll Maker makes it easy to create and share polls in just a few seconds without requiring registration. Add your question and response choices in the blanks provided; options allow you to find and add images to both the question and the responses if desired. Additional tabs provide options for selecting and customizing a theme and personalizing settings. Setting options include security features, multiple answers as responses, and selections to hide or show results. Advanced settings allow you to set the start and end dates of polls. When ready to share your poll, copy and share the link, copy and paste the embed code onto a website, or invite users to your poll via email. Registration isn't required; however, it allows you to create and manage additional polls and view hidden results.

Bookmark and save this handy site for many different classroom uses. Engage students when introducing a new topic by creating a poll to assess learning quickly or find students' interest in a topic. After installation, personalize Certify'em within any form to create a certificate upon completion of a minimum score. Use Certify'em as a means for differentiating instruction by allowing students to take a pre-assessment test before starting a new unit. After registration, follow the steps to create a group, invite students, and ask questions. Choose from different options for student responses, including multiple-choice, short answer, emoji reactions, or a scaled score from 1-7. Invite students into your group using the provided code. Students use their Google account to login and access questions. Upon receiving responses, Loop provides options for responding to students. Free accounts allow one teacher to use the application with three groups and 50 students per group.

Use the messaging feature to gather and display messages from participants. Wooclap also features options for add-ins to include PowerPoint Slides, Google Slides, PDF's, and more. Free Wooclap accounts allow users two questions for up to 1,000 students; however, it is free for educators in K12 by following the directions found here. Create an account to begin, then add an event. Choose the type of activity from the provided options such as a poll, open-ended question, word cloud, and more. Share your activity using the event code or link created for it.

Cleverest's artificial intelligence (they call it Andi) takes your information and turns it into quiz questions ranked and ordered by real-world performance based on research. Do you need a quick and easy way to create forms, quizzes, and polls? Microsoft Forms has you covered. Create surveys and collect data in real-time, assign quizzes with your point values for automatic grading, and create polls on the fly to quickly receive responses for immediate use. Sign in to your Microsoft account to begin (or create a free account) and select either a new form or quiz. Click on the plus mark and follow prompts to add new items. Add an image to any part of the form using the search bar or upload your own. Forms also offer the option to add a YouTube video within questions. Forms works on all devices, use the preview to see your form as it appears on computers or mobile devices before sending. Share your form using the URL, QR code, or embed in a website or email. View responses through the response tab created with your form. Return to previous forms as needed to review the data collected or duplicate forms to create new polls or surveys.

Test students' knowledge of related items using this unique quiz creator. Create a quiz using a set of common terms or elements (presidents, types of animals, incorrect use of a comma, etc.). Build your game by adding additional sets of items to add rounds. To play, divide students into teams and start the game. The alphabet appears beginning with Z and going backward, and letters begin to disappear. If the letter is in your set of terms it pops up into the appropriate place - think of Wheel of Fortune. When a player guesses why items are related, pause the game to hear their response. Continue playing if incorrect or move to the next round if correct.

Gimkit is a quiz learning game for students and teachers, created and maintained by students. After signing up, you begin by creating "kits" (live learning games) to create quizzes. Create from scratch, import an existing quiz from Quizlet or a CSV file, or copy quizzes from the Gimkit gallery to modify for your use. Follow the prompts to add questions, four answer choices, and add an image if desired. Add class rosters and assign kits for student completion within a specific time frame. Students complete quizzes at their own pace within the due date. As they complete quizzes, students earn money to reinvest in Gimkit upgrades that align with their strengths. Use your Gimkit dashboard to view student progress and earnings and additional formative data. Free accounts provide all core features and the ability to create unlimited kits. There is also a restriction on how many players (5) can join your live game.

Create pretests and allow students to opt out of some introductory assignments and choose other options like research projects or multimedia presentations. Whooo's Reading is an alternative to traditional reading programs by offering short response options to book quizzes instead of multiple choice answers. After reading, students answer three quick higher-level questions, that are automatically scored, and earn coins for correct responses to spend on personalized "owlvatars." Teachers receive scores in real-time and have the option to provide feedback through conversations with students within the program. In addition to quizzes, Whooo's Reading also offers standards aligned journal activities for use in between quizzes and book recommendations upon completing quizzes.

In the Classroom
Although recommended for students in grades K-8, teachers of younger students should review questions and consider writing ability levels before including them in the program due to the written responses required. Consider using Whooo's Reading as an alternative to Accelerated Reader due to the use of short response answers instead of multiple choice questions. After reading books, substitute paper and pen journals by asking younger students to create a blog using a tool like Penzu, reviewed here, to share a book review with fellow students. Engage older students, or literature circle groups, by having them create a poster for the book using a tool like DesignCap, reviewed here, and then upload the poster to their blog about the book. A great blogging tool for older students is Telegra.ph, reviewed here. With Telegra.ph have students click on an icon to upload related images, add a YouTube or Vimeo, or Twitter links. This blog creator requires no registration. Try out some of the diagrams on the site before attempting to create one. Share a link to any diagram on your class website for student review and practice. When ready to make your own diagram start out simple and follow the easy directions to create and share a learning diagram. Once you become confident, invite students to create their own diagrams to use as a review tool or in place of a final report. QuizWhizzer is a quiz creation tool that sends players racing on a track you choose. Begin by creating your quiz from options presented within QuizWhizzer including player movement choices and positions on the board. Add questions by selecting from options of question types, add images or videos if desired, and feedback for submitted answers. Quizzes allow for up to 30 players, and they enter the game on any device by entering the unique access code. Also, you can run more than one quiz at a time. When finished, teachers receive a game result spreadsheet with player names and results from each question. Making the creation of a quiz can take just a matter of seconds by copying other people's public game designs.

Add QuizWhizzer to your arsenal of quiz creation tools, especially for differentiation, since you can run more than one quiz at a time. Create a quiz as a tool for checking prior knowledge or making a quick assessment. Have students answer exit questions or see what students remember from the previous day using the Quiz Creator. Use for formative assessment to identify misconceptions that students may have at the start of a unit. ESL/ELL and world language teachers could use QuizWhizzer for vocabulary practice. Have students create quizzes with characteristics of story characters for classmates to see which character they resemble the most. JoeZoo is an assessment tool for creating rubrics, providing feedback, and guiding students to use 21st Century Skills. JoeZoo works with many LMS platforms (G Suite, among others). The feedback tool provides many resources including highlighting text, pre-loaded feedback, and pie charts demonstrating feedback from different categories.
